What is karat gold? What is the difference between 18K gold and 14K gold?
The English name for karat gold is Karat Gold, where karat is a unit used to indicate the purity of gold. Karat gold is made of gold and other alloys. Internationally, the alloy is generally divided into 24 parts, and according to the gold content, it is divided into 24K, 22K, 18K, 14K, 12K, and 10K.
The most popular types are 24K, 18K, and 14K gold. 24K gold contains 99.99% gold, which is what we commonly refer to as pure gold or solid gold. However, because gold is a very soft and malleable metal, it is very easy to bend and deform, so it is generally not recommended to set gemstones or diamonds in pure gold. 18K and 14K gold, on the other hand, evolved from gold jewelry, containing 75% 18K gold and 58.5% 14K gold respectively, and are further synthesized with other harder precious metals.
